A Very Serious Music Discussion: Top 40 Style

Hanging out with some friends a discussion of music isn’t far off. Of course, by discussion I mean blurting out favorite old songs and our favorite memory associated with that song. In an effort to bring all you wonderful people into my apartment conversation, I give you some of the most “discussed” songs – Casey Kasem style.

Coming in at #3: It’s a little ditty about a boy who is smitten by a seeming disinterested young lady. Will his love go unrequited? Lets take a listen and find out. The Pharcyde playing “Passing me by” is a hit at any old school house party.

Aaron, from Livingroomville, USA, writes:

“Dear Casey, When I was just a boy, my mother would spend hours baking the most delicious sweets. Every evening she would call us in for a wonderful homemade meal that was followed by freshly baked sweets. There is a song that reminds me of those better days. Would you play it for me?” Yes, Aaron, I will play it for you. Coming at #2: Pour some sugar on me by the incomparable Def Leopard.

And new at the #1 spot, amidst much controversy, a giant rises from the hip hop world to attain short-lived glory. Raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, Notorious B.I.G. was able to overcome much adversity in his life and became a celebrity in the music industry. Here he is with “Juicy”.

Yeah, I know. It’s a crazy, mixed up list, but that is a great way to describe my music “discussion group”. It’s a good time, you should try it some time just to see what your friends come up with – you might be surprised.
