How to Fix Up That Awesome “New” Furniture You Bought at a Garage Sale!

Over my twenty three years of awesome garage sale hunting, I have come across some beautiful finds! Here are a few of my favorites that have allowed me to make my apartment a home!

This first image is my bookshelf! Price: $5.00

I used it to store my school books and art supplies and now I gave it to Parker to use in her learning corner!

This next photo you all may have seen before. This was actually an AMAZING find. I use it for my television and storage for DVDs and video games. Well, it is actually one of a set of three pieces in a baby room furniture set! This was originally a closet and the other two pieces were a matching dresser and a toy chest. I only wanted this one piece and the toy chest (for book storage…not for my plethora of toys, goofy!). I left to get money and came back and a woman had purchased the toy chest and the dresser for $150.00! (I would have never have paid that!) Because the owner felt bad she sold this to me for …

Price: $20.00

Wowie, right?! I replaced the door handles to something a bit more mature and removed the closet rod inside and viola! Entertainment closet!

This final photo is my first dresser that I purchased myself!

Price: $20.00

The dresser was a weird khaki color when I purchased it. When my roomies had their daughter, I donated it to them and they painted it purple! So now Parker has a beautiful purple dresser for all her cute little clothes!

I really want to learn more about fine-tuning old furniture and whatnot. Shoot me some ideas, or if you have any pictures of things you have jazzed back to life, show me!!
