Creative Engagement Rings

engagement ringAs I’ve made it halfway through my twenties, I’ve seen a plethora of girls get engaged. Nine times out of ten, there’s a Facebook profile picture zoomed in on a pretty standard diamond ring (followed by a ton of “ohs” and “ahs”), That’s lovely for them, but I think creative options are much more fun.

Alternative stones can lower the price and add some color to your ring, but they don’t always have to have an inexpensive look! Alternative stones can be embellished with surrounding diamonds for a more classic look.

Creative bands are a great way to achieve a modern look. I’ve heard multiple stories of diamonds falling lose, but creative bands (like the one shown top left) can create extra support as part of the design.

Simple influences from symbolism (such as the double love knot ring, bottom left) or classic shapes (middle) can add a personal feel to your engagement ring. (These are usually my favorites!)

Before you decide on an engagement ring, consider personal style and day-to-day wear first. A taller ring will complicate things for someone who is constantly working with their hands. That said, if you’ve decided to propose, you probably know this person better than any friend (or online article) will ever be able to help you with. I hope I have encouraged you to at least think outside of what’s common and personalize the symbolism of your commitment.
